Dr. Brent B. Hughes, Marine Biologist-Associate Professor, Sonoma State University, Santa Rosa, CA USA

Brent B. Hughes has a PHD from UC Santa Cruz and has co-authored numerous abstracts, papers, technical reports, and books. His research interests are Community Ecology, Marine Ecology, Conservation, Coastal Ecosystems, Food Webs. His research is focused on coastal habitats – seagrass, salt marsh, and kelp (aka foundation species) – which provide valuable ecosystem services, yet are threatened by human activities. His lab studies affects on coastal ecosystem stability.
