Welcome to RESILIENT EARTH RADIO where we host speakers from the United States and around the world to talk about critical issues facing our planet and the positive actions people are taking. Less Doom and Gloom, more Sunshine and Hope! We also let our listeners learn how they can get involved and make a difference.

Hosts are Leigh Anne Lindsey, filmmaker and GM of KGUA 88.3FM (an independent public radio station on the Northern California coast), and Scott & Tree Mercer, Founders, Mendonoma Whale & Seal Study.

A focus of this podcast series are Nature-Based Economies that help rebalance the Earth and raise awareness about the value of whales, elephants, mangroves, seagrass, the deep seas, waterways and forests - our natural world - towards that rebalancing. This addresses the effects of our own human-caused climate change, and what we can do about it - from simple steps to grand gestures!

Global experts, citizen scientists, activists, fisher folk, and educators examine and explain ciritical issues facing our planet and actions people are taking to mitigate and rebalance climate. We discuss the critical role of carbon storage, and how it is essential for all life forms on earth.

This awareness could lead to new laws, policies and procedures to help protect these valuable resources, and encourage economies around them to replace the existing exploitation of oceans, forests, and animals.

Taking positive action, and getting people involved, that's our goal.

Aeon Bashir, Aeon for Oceans, Lives in the Midwest US

Aeon for Ocean was founded by Aeon, a 7-year-old from Minnesota, to empower his peers to protect the ocean and this beautiful planet. Aeon has been passionate about marine life since he was two years old, and he is an avid advocate for the ocean and its creatures. His love of the world’s oceans and his drive for conservation has inspired his parents and classmates alike.

Living in the Midwest, far from the coast, made Aeon especially curious about how people inland are connected to marine ecosystems. Our oceans are the life support of planet Earth, an interconnected system of all the Earth's waters. We are also part of this system with every breath we take and through the water we drink. At Aeon for Ocean, our mission is to educate kids on marine life while focusing on ocean conservation and helping them create awareness about the importance of oceans.

As Aeon says, "no matter where we live or eat seafood, we all are in trouble when the ocean is in trouble!"
